Idiyappam (rice noodles) is a South Indian food, usually served for breakfast.Idiyappam is an all time favorite recipe at home. Serve it with sweet coconut milk and stew and it makes for an amazing breakfast or dinner. you'll also serve with chicken stew. Idiyappam is also referred to as as Nool Puttu in karnataka and String Hoppers in Srilanka.

Idiyappam (String Hoppers) is a traditional, easy to digest dish prepared mostly for breakfast. because it is steam cooked, it's healthy and suits well for kids. This rice noodles are very popular in south Indian states. the method of preparing the dough and thickness of Idiyappam string varies slightly from home to home.

It is generally served breakfast or dinner together with
avial, spicy curry either made of mixed vegetables, egg, fish or stews made with either meat or chicken curry and coconut chutney.

Idiyappam is also served with sweetened coconut milk in the Malabar region of Kerala. This is not usually served for lunch.
